CHICAGO — 9th House District candidate for State Representative Lakesia Collins will attend the Jan. 20 King Holiday Scholarship Breakfast sponsored by Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rainbow PUSH organization. The event is 8 a.m., Monday, Jan. 20, at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 East Wacker Drive.
Collins, a union leader, former nursing home worker, and single mom of three boys, has helped pass historic legislation to raise nursing home standards for workers and residents, raise the minimum wage to $15, and put a fair tax proposal on the November ballot.
